When I was young, I loved Baseball. I played – a lot. When I was a teen, I loved Basketball. I played – a lot. Now I love NFL Football. I don’t play, I just watch. I think that demonstrates growth, but I wonder what sport I’ll love when I’m older.
My favorite number is 24. I don't know why that is.
I'm not a workaholic, but I really like to work, and I feel guilty if I don't work hard every day.
My son was used as a model on the cover of a series of “Teenage Detective” books called "The Belltown Mystery Series".
Before I got into the QA field, I was in IT. I’m much happier now.
I once took a college course entitled "Pop Culture". At the end of the year, we each had to present a project. My project was on Pet Rocks. Among other accomplishments, I taught one to play dead.
When I write an article on this blog, I constantly have to resist the urge to go back and "make it better".
My favorite vegetable is broccoli.
I wish I had some talent for drawing. For example, I'd love to be able to draw political cartoons.
I have many more podcasts than music on my iPod. I find a good lecture or discussion far more satisfying than a good song.
My first car was a 1964 VW Beetle I purchased from my uncle. It was a standard, black, with no radio. I think it only had about 6 moving parts. I once stuffed 9 people in there so that we could go play basketball.
I'm married to the love of my life, have two terrific, successful sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, the most beautiful granddaughter in the whole world, and the cutest grandson in history. I'm very lucky.
I read a lot - usually on my Kindle. Often, I'll be reading one technical book, and one fun book at the same time.
Although I try not to, I worry too much - about a lot of things.
I don't like to sleep a lot. Most days, I tend to wake up by 5:00 AM and get to sleep around 11:00 PM.
My favorite author is Isaac Asimov. I particularly love his science essays.
I don't like the taste or smell of most cheeses. To me, they smell like feet. But I do like cheesecake.
Some day, I hope to be as good at my job as my wife is at hers.
I never feel compelled to own the latest technology. If something is working well for me, it has to break completely, or there has to be a very convincing reason, for me to replace it with something new.
In High School, I was the President of the Chess Club. Sadly, I haven't played at all in many years. I'm pretty sure I suck at it now.
My favorite color is red.
People who combine their intelligence and drive to succeed inspire me. People like Bill Belichick and Bill Gates, who not only seem smarter than everyone else, but work harder than everyone else, fascinate me.
I enjoy taking digital snapshots, but I'd love to be a really good photographer.
I just don't "get" sushi. It doesn't gross me out or anything, and I'll eat it, but to me seafood seems rather tasteless unless it's cooked.
